The Canterbury Tales has now partnered up with the Westgate Towers! Giving you the opportunity to explore more of Canterbury’s medieval history for less
The newly re-opened Westgate towers is a medieval gatehouse approximately 60 foot (18m) high and is the largest surviving city gate in England. Built of Kentish ragstone c1380, it is the last surviving of Canterbury's 7 medieval gates, one of Canterbury's iconic landmarks. The Tower is a scheduled ancient monument and Grade I listed. Visitors can explore its rich history and take in the spectacular views of the city from the battlements viewpoint. Also, part of the museum are the original felons' cells built c1830 in the gaol extension and the c1907 police station cells on the ground floor as part of The Pound Bar & Kitchen. Look out for the black 'History Discs' located on all floors which give more information on the former uses of each space over the years.

Guests book a tour time for the Canterbury Tales experience and can visit the Westgate Towers at any time between 11am and 4pm on your chosen date.
Please note the Westgate Towers is not wheel chair accessible due to the historic nature of the building.
