SPECIAL HALF-TERM TRAIL AT THE CANTERBURY TALES
- And it’s Kids for a Quid if you book online! -
The award-winning Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is holding a special event this half-term, with treats up for grabs for youngsters.
The Merchant’s Pear Trail is based around Chaucer’s Merchant’s Tale, which follows the complicated love story of decrepit old Knight January, love-struck Damien and the beautiful, lustful (and aptly named) May.
Join the pilgrims as usual on their bawdy pilgrimage but with the added fun of spotting the hidden letters along the way!
Can you find all of the pears that have fallen from the tree where Damien and May are hidden? If you can rearrange the letters you find to form the hidden word, you may receive a treat and possibly a bonus story when your pilgrimage is over.
Pre-book online (www.canterburytales.org.uk) between May 24 and 31 and any child accompanying an adult will receive entry for just £1*! What’s more, accompanying adults and concessions get a 15% online discount.
Admission prices are £8.95 adults, £6.95 children (aged 5-15), and £7.95 concessions.
Half-term opening times: 10am-5pm.
The Canterbury Tales brings to life five of Chaucer’s best-loved stories with tales of love, romance and trickery, vividly recreated with all the fun of his original tales. Its stunningly accurate reconstruction of 14th century England, set inside the former St Margaret’s Church, gives visitors the opportunity to step back in time and experience the sights, smells and sounds of medieval times. Join Chaucer’s band of pilgrims as they embark on a journey from The Tabard Inn to Canterbury Cathedral.
