If you’re looking for some grown-up chills this Halloween, head to The Canterbury Tales in Kent, where Chaucer’s classic stories will be taking a sinister turn with live horror performances in a church graveyard.
The attraction’s popular Terrible Tales, which have been updated with new twists and turns, will be performed by drama students from the University of Kent. Performances will be followed by a guided tour through the attraction, where nasty surprises await as you walk the diseased streets of medieval England…
The Canterbury Tales provides a great introduction to the cathedral city and its famous literary connection as well as being a hugely entertaining day out for the whole family. It brings to life five of Geoffrey Chaucer’s best-loved stories with tales of love, romance and trickery and, having welcomed more than two million visitors from all over the world, it remains one of Kent’s ‘must see’ attractions.
The Terrible Tales are performed at 7pm every evening from Friday 24 to Friday 31 October. The really brave can join the late-night 9pm tour on October 31. Admission costs £10 per person (it is not suitable for under-12s).
