How long should I allow for my visit?

We recommend that you allow 45 minutes - 1 hour for your visit.

When is it open?

The Canterbury Tales is open daily except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Click here for full details of opening times.

Accessibility

We have ramps, lifts and adapted toilets and can make special arrangements for the hard of hearing or partially sighted.

Please note, due to current fire health & safety legislation, we are only able to accommodate one wheelchair user at a time within the attraction. Please call us for further information.

Where is it?

The Canterbury Tales is situated in St. Margaret’s Church on St. Margaret’s Street just off the High Street and only two minutes’ walk from Canterbury Cathedral.

Can I take photographs?

Yes, as long as you ensure that your flash is turned off.

Who owns it?

The Canterbury Tales is owned and managed by Continuum, the industry leader in the operation of tourism, heritage and visitor attraction venues.

Is there a gift shop?

Yes - our gift shop sells a range of Canterbury merchandise as well as souvenirs for all ages. You can also visit the gift shop directly from St Margarets Street without visiting the attraction.

Where is the nearest car park?

We would recommend using the Park & Ride service - in addition, there are several city centre car parks a short walk from The Canterbury Tales.

Is there a cafe?

We do not have eating facilities. However, we are situated in the heart of Canterbury and surrounding us are many places to eat. We recommend the plump pilgrim's at Tiny Tim's Tearoom!

What toilet facilities do you have?

We have male, female and disabled toilet facilities, aswell as baby changing facilities.
