Medieval Pilgrimage-Pilgrim Tokens

Begin your day with a meet and greet from one of our very own costumed characters as they introduce you to medieval Canterbury. Take a tour of the Canterbury Tales "increasing familiarity with... books from our literary heritage,"* as your pupils experience five of Geoffrey Chaucer's most famous Canterbury Tales. Allow your pupils to experience a glimpse into medieval life as they walk the streets of medieval England taking in the sights, sounds and smells.

Continuing with their immersion in medieval life your pupils will take part in a medieval sculpting workshop by Brenda Burgess a Kent based portrait sculptor and art leader. This is the perfect combination of fun and cross curricular activity as your pupils “improve their mastery of Art and Design techniques through creativity…including sculpture with clay”*. The workshop will take place in the nearby historic church of St. Peter the Apostle; a costumed guide will lead you from the attraction to the venue, with some fun facts about Canterbury along the way!

The whole experience lasts approximately 3 hours from arrival in Canterbury city centre until the end of your time at St Peter's Church. This includes 45 minutes for a break/lunch with use of the facilities.

The price of the package is £9.00 per child. This includes your costumed character meet and greet, the Canterbury Tales tour, your workshop and space for lunces.We also offer one teacher free with every ten pupils, downloadable education resources, risk assessments and other great GROUP BENEFITS.
