The Canterbury Tales is offering FREE entry to anyone called Geoffrey next month, in honour of the celebrated poet whose tales are so vividly brought to life at the award-winning attraction.
Five of Geoffrey Chaucer’s best-loved stories are told in a stunningly accurate reconstruction of 14th century England. Set inside the former St Margaret’s Church, in the heart of the cathedral city, The Canterbury Tales gives visitors the opportunity to step back in time and experience the sights, smells and sounds of medieval times.
The ‘Free entry for Geoffreys’ offer is available from August 24-30. ‘Geoffreys’ just need to bring proof of ID.
It’s one of several special offers being run throughout August to mark the attraction’s 25th anniversary. From August 10-16 there will be free entry for anyone celebrating their 25th birthday or wedding anniversary this year – visitors just need to bring some proof and will also be entered into a draw to win a bottle of Champagne.
Then from August 17-23, there’s free entry for anyone who turns up dressed as a knight or princess, including mums and dads! Upload your photo to the attraction’s Facebook page and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a prize.
To celebrate its 25th year, The Canterbury Tales has also introduced costumed guides to add some extra fun to the experience. The larger-than-life performers have proved so popular that the attraction is offering fully guided evening tours – The Canterbury Tales Live! The Peculiar Pilgrimage – for the very first time on selected nights in August.
